Defendants Charged with Shoplifting from Target in Manahawkin
The Asbury Park Press has reported that the Stafford Police have arrested and charged two men with among other things, shoplifting following an incident that took place at the Target. The Stafford Police Department received a call from a Target employee around 8:40 pm, stating that they had two suspicious individuals located inside their store. When the police arrived to investigate, one of the suspects, a twenty-one year old from Atlantic City attempted to flee the store, while the other suspect, a thirty-four year old from Brigantine remained put. The twenty-one year old was not able to get very far. He was quickly apprehended and a search incident to arrest revealed that he was also in possession of some heroin and drug paraphernalia. To go along with that, the suspect also several outstanding traffic warrants out of Brigantine. He was arrested and formally charged with shoplifting, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and he was turned over the Brigantine Police Department. While the other suspect was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons to appear in the Stafford Municipal Court.
